What Makes The 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 So Desirable: Full Review

After revealing an all-electric version to the G80 and an all-new fully electric vehicle, called the GV60, and now with the all-new electric version of the super sleek and powerful GV70, dubbed the Electrified GV70, it’s clear to see that Genesis is never slowing down on its plan to electrify its lineup.

The Electrified GV70 will be the third EV from this Korean luxury brand. This electric version of the gas-powered GV70 is nearly indistinguishable from the regular GV70 inside and out. It uses the same framework as the regular GV70, but that’s never a problem as this luxury compact SUV affords a handsome exterior styling and elegant interior.

Genesis has revealed that this new Electrified GV70 will be available later this year and will come with a dual electric motor and all-wheel drive setup. It will also afford a driving range of more than 300 miles, 480 horses, and a 350kW rapid charging capability.

Engine & Performance

The 2023 Electrified GV70 has dual electric motors (one on each axle) and an all-wheel drive configuration. Each electric motor generates about 215 hp and 257 lb-ft of torque and a combined 483 hp and 516 lb-ft. Genesis claims that this new electric version of the GV70 can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, making it faster than the regular luxury compact SUV.

The Electrified GV70 comes equipped with different driving modes, including the e-Terrain mode, which is best for off-roading. To conserve range, you have the Electrified GV70’s Disconnector Actuator System (DAS) to help you disconnect the motor and driveshaft automatically. The system also switches between single or dual motors, depending on the vehicle speed and driving mode. Genesis also stacked a Smart Regenerative Braking System 2.0 and Active Noise Control-Road system in the new Electrified GV70.

Range & Charging

While the battery pack size in the new 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 has not been confirmed yet, we expect this electric luxury compact SUV to deliver not less than 300 miles range on a full charge.

Genesis says that this electric SUV will support a very fast onboard 350 kW charger, with 400/800-volt fast charging that can get the battery from 10 to 80% in less than 20 minutes.

Interior, Cargo

Inside, the Electrified GV70 interior is much similar to the gas-powered GV70. The electric version of this luxury SUV still features an elegantly styled cabin and a long list of luxurious elements that made many shoppers fall in love with the regular GV70. Its sleek dash also sports a large infotainment screen with many updated connectivity features.

Although Genesis has not released detail about the interior space—passenger and cargo space, of the Electrified GV70, we expect it to be the same with the gas-powered variants.

The 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 is a true luxury electric compact SUV that will thrill its drivers and get heads turning in the streets.
