A Complete Preview Of The 2023 Lincoln Mark E

After a failed partnership with the electric-vehicle upstart, Rivian, which could see the new Lincoln electric vehicles sharing the same electric platform as Rivian EVs, Lincoln decided to fly solo, forging ahead with its plan to become a fully electrified luxury brand by 2030. This luxury division of Ford has finalized plans to launch its first all-electric vehicle, dubbed Mark E.

Although the name, Mark, is more like a throwback to the glorious days of Lincoln luxury sedans and coupes, the all-new Lincoln Mark E is an electric luxury SUV. The all-new Lincoln Mark E SUV, which will debut later this year as a 2023 model, will open the path for the next line of Lincoln EVs. This Nautilus look-alike electric SUV sports the best tech niceties and the most luxurious appointments in Lincoln’s arsenal. If there’s a better EV SUV to cruise down the streets of Miami, an alternative to the typical Tesla Y, it’s with the new Lincoln Mark E.

Powertrain & Performance

Considering that the deal with Rivian didn’t pull through, it’s a bit tougher to predict the size of the battery, electric motor, and power output of the new Mark E. However, this Lincoln’s first EV could probably share the same electrical powertrain with the Ford Mustang Mach E. This means it will pack two electric motors and Lithium-ion batteries with sizes ranging from 75.7-kWh to 98.8-kWh. This setup produces up to 480 horsepower and 634 lb.-ft. torque. Although there’s every chance of getting a rear-wheel drive system, the 2023 Mark E will most likely come standard with an all-wheel drive system.

Although Lincoln is yet to reveal more vital information about the new Mark E, we have every reason to believe that it will be a powerful and quick electric SUV. Also, an adaptive suspension could be a standard feature, delivering plush and cosseting ride quality.

Range & Charging

With Lincoln not providing more information about the electrical powertrain of the Mark E, it will be a lot tougher to speculate its driving range, but you can expect a range of 300 to 350 miles on a full charge.

We also expect the 2023 Mark E to support DC fast charging at public stations and to offer in-home charging support to its first electric vehicle.

Interior, Cargo

On the inside, we expect the new Mark E to be plusher than any car Lincoln has ever made. Premium materials, rich color themes, and new digital design language are all possible in Lincoln’s first electric vehicle.

Lincoln could offer the Mark E as either a two or three-row electric SUV. Regardless, it will afford ample passenger and cargo space. The Lincoln’s massage functions for the driver and front-seat passenger and 30-way adjustable seats could be standard as well.
